“Futurustic is a collection of handmade terracotta wall tiles whose concept is to include in the still unbaked earth an element that, as it burns during firing, will disappear, leaving imprinted a characteristic groove/mark. This mark, during installation, can be filled with grout, creating an irregular pattern unique to each piece. The concept of sign inclusion can be decined by varying the element depending on the type of project and the place where it originates, such as the pine needle chosen for a special project in Capri called Passeggiata. Futurustic is a handmade that allows customization for each client, creating the basis for strategic communication that tells the story of the project through the material.” Marialaura Irvine

We used Passeggiata concept for a Restaurant project in Capri and for the exhibition M’Illumino d’immenso at Nomad Circle in  Capri to create volumes lined with a narrative made up of sensations and the beauty of the place, Capri. The promenade is at Luigi ai Faraglioni, a narrow street that skirts the sea and pine trees. Barefoot, on the lane paved by the wind and long-fallen pine needles that create a veritable pavement. A stratification that tells of time passed, the scent of the pines, the sound of the sea and nature. A memory imprinted in handmade terracotta that, once laid and contrastingly grouted, forever marks the Genius Loci. Enjoy your walk!
